Looking back, it's hard not to believe that was true for us. The summer of 2021, one spontaneous decision changed the course of our lives forever.
Every year Ramina celebrates her birthday by traveling somewhere new in search of great food. That year, a last minute decision led her to Austin, Texas, for one thing — BARBECUE! At the time Shiv was living in Austin, while Ramina was living in Phoenix.
On the evening of July 4th, one day before going back to Phoenix, Ramina and her girlfriends met a group of new friends on Rainey Street where they were invited to go watch the fireworks. With that one simple yes, Ramina & Shivraj's story quietly began.
What started with a simple exchange of Instagram handles turned into months of conversations, inside jokes, endless memes, and discovering that we shared the same love language: making each other laugh. Somewhere along the way, friendship became the foundation for something we never saw coming.
7 months later, Shiv boarded a plane to Phoenix for the first time for their first date at Shin-bay in Scottsdale. The moment we saw each other again, it felt as though we had known one another for a lifetime. The distance disappeared and we picked up right where it had been left off. From that moment on, loving each other became the easiest part. We chose each other through every mile, every plane ticket, every hello, every goodbye, and every season that brought us closer to this day.
